World Water Day is an annual event that takes place on March 22nd, and it is designated by the United Nations to focus on the importance of freshwater and its sustainable management. This provides an opportunity to raise awareness about the global water crises and the need to conserve and protect this vital resource.

The DWS has to this day developed the draft NWRS-3 Version 2.6 and was approved by Cabinet for public consultation. The document has since been published in the Government Gazette on 29 July 2022 under Notice 47133 for public comments over a period of 90 days from the date of publication.
