We, the Ground Water Division, understand that your personal information is important to you and that you may be apprehensive about disclosing it. Your privacy is just as important to us and we are committed to safeguarding and processing your information in a lawful manner.

All the personal information we obtain from you through our Membership Application process are hosted and managed via a Membership Manager platform on a back-end server that is only accessible through permission settings and is password protected. We also want to make sure that you understand how and for what purpose we process your information. If for any reason you think that your information is not processed in a correct manner, or that your information is being used for a purpose other than that for what it was originally intended, you can contact our National Office/ Branch Chair. Some of your information that we hold may include but not be limited to, your first and last name, title and occupation, your organisation name, email address, a home, postal or other physical address (for invoicing and Branch allocation purposes), your birth date, gender, SACNASP registration detail (for Professional Membership only), specialties and/or interest listings.

You can request access to the information we hold about you at any time and if you think that we have outdated information, please request us to update or correct it. Purpose for Processing your Information We collect, hold and use your personal information mainly for the purpose of conducting membership activities and providing benefits to you as a member. We will only process your information for a purpose you would reasonably expect, including:

  • To verify your identity and/or professional status
  • To confirm, verify and update your details in order to keep your profile active with us
  • To provide you with a membership certificate
  • To notify you of new events or sector developments that may be of interest to you (newsletter)
  • To comply with any legal and regulatory requirements

Consent to Disclose and Share your information

As the GWD we will share some your personal information to provide advice, reports and analyses to the Executive Committee. This information will be for internal use only. On the website we will list an Active Member Database where only your member grade, name, surname, organisation and branch information will be displayed. No other personal information will be shared publically.

For the commercially accessible Professional Services Directory posting, professional members will consent via the Membership Application Form, which information and contact detail they are willing to share publically. Only this information will be shared online. The GWD will not share its Membership Database with any outside party. Any request from outside parties for communication with our membership, will be done internally through our own communication channels.
