There is still time to register for National Wetlands Indaba 2023, as well as for the pre, in- and post-conference trips.  A new post-conference trip has been uploaded. The descriptions of the pre- post- and in-conference field trips are on https://nwi26.org/fieldtrips.php   The in-conference trips are included in the registration fee, but the pre- and post-conference visits to the RAMSAR sites and Marico are self-drive and self-funded. The National Wetlands Indaba is an annual event intended to provide a platform for a cross-disciplinary gathering of practitioners involved with the conservation and sustainable utilisation of South Africa’s wetland resources. These include scientists, decision-makers, researchers, conservationists and educators hailing from various organisations and Government departments.

  • Rehabilitation and restoration in a changing world

  • Wetlands in arid environments

  • Wetland ecology and biodiversity

  • Wetland ecosystem functioning

  • Mapping, monitoring and remote sensing

  • Mining, invasives, and other wetland threats
