GCS has a vacancy for a mid-level Hydrogeologist.
The position will be based in Kloof, KwaZulu-Natal.
ROLE SUMMARY
A registered Professional Scientist who manages complex hydrogeological projects within deadlines and budget. To be recognised by the market as an established mining hydrogeologist and grow a client base.
KEY WORK OUTPUTS
Projects
- Ability to manage complex groundwater projects/components
- Meet deadlines, budgets and delegates effectively
- Fieldwork and subcontractor management
- Excelled data interpretation skills
- Ensuring that all project components are conducted according to high quality standards and in a safe manner
- Growing awareness and responsibility in assisting with overall group and unit revenue and staff resourcing
- Expertise and experience to a level of an independent consultant
Reporting
- Writing and preparing proposals
- Report reviewing
Business Development
- Growing the network of clients. Assisting with the development of existing clients and attracting new clients
- Contribution to sales, including cross-selling
QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and EXPERIENCE
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Honours Degree, MSc Degree in Hydrogeology
- Pr Sci Nat
Knowledge/ Skills
- Solid technical expertise in mining hydrogeology
- Good project management and report writing skills
- Good communication skills to develop client relationships
- Good client management skills
Experience
- At least 5 - 8 years’ experience in hydrogeology, an appropriate portion to be spent on mining projects
- Recognised expert in the market and can work independently
- Mining hydrogeology – mine water supplies, dewatering, geochemical assessments, impact assessment.
- Experience in managing multi-disciplinary projects and working on water resource studies
Total Cost to Company Package will be negotiated according to the candidate’s knowledge and experience.
