CBSS will be presenting our popular three-day Water Governance and water use license (WULA) Training Course, in association with the Water Institute of South Africa (WISA), from 24 to 26 May 2022, in Pretoria, Gauteng Province.

This is a 3-day integrated course involving both lectures and field work on the complexly deformed high grade metamorphic rocks of the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast.

These FEFLOW-related webinars focus on recurring training for groundwater modellers, geologists and hydrogeologists around the world and will take place on the third Thursday of every month.

This new online course on groundwater resources management will provide participants with a comprehensive overview what impacts upon groundwater. The course will start on Friday 29th April and run up to the 29th August. The application process is open to Tuesday 11th April 2022.

On behalf of the Gauteng Branch of the Ground Water Division of the GSSA, you are invited to take part in the upcoming webinar on groundwater modelling as a decision support tool. The speaker will share his experience and open this topic to wider discussions.

The Geoheritage Division of the GSSA will be hosting a series of events on 3-7 April 2022 to celebrate the amazing variety of geological features (Geosites) with scientific, educational, cultural, economic and/or aesthetic significance in South Africa. The event will comprise virtual and live field/museum visits, presentations, discussions, a strategy session, as well as the opening of the Morris Viljoen display at the Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden - “The Origins of Life, Landscapes and Minerals as told by the Rocks of South Africa”.
