What happens when dry ground gets wet, or when wet ground gets dry? Climate change, infrastructure development, drainage and dewatering and other project life cycle implications are mostly focused around drying wet ground, or wetting dry ground. In soil. In fractured rock. In karst. These are my topics of interest. I currently work at the Department of Geology, University of Pretoria, doing research in the cross-disciplinary fields between Hydrogeology, Engineering Geology and Vadose Zone Hydrology.
