The recent Drilling Supervision Course hosted at the Institute for Groundwater Studies, UFS in a chilly Bloemfontein over 4-6 July 2024, was attended by a number of IGS Honour students and invited

11-13 November 2020, Stellenbosch University. This workshop pulls together leading experts in the groundwater industry and includes a field visit to drilling within Table Mountain Group Aquifer (TMGA). It's a wonderful opportunity to learn and network. Although based in Wester Cape, international trends will also be discussed and the workshop is applicable to all involved in groundwater from the southern Africa region and beyond

With the current focus on sanitation as the major preventative measure re. viral control, the sector are aware that there are still a vast majority of villages & towns that are in desperate need of water.

The roles of the groundwater resource and the groundwater professional are highlighted at the 16th Ground Water Division Conference and Exhibition to be held in Port Elizabeth 20-23 October 2019.  The event is organised by the Eastern Cape Branch with assistance of the national executive committee and promises to expand on the very important theme in Demand, Availability and Surety within the broader them of Groundwater: The Sustainability Issue.
