Stephen Marais, from the DWS Directorate: Water Services Planning Support, unpacks the Standard Operating Procedures (SoP) manual/ guidelines for Groundwater Development for Community Water Supply Projects - that would now impact all refurbishment projects, existing schemes as well as future development. The methodology of this SoP’s implementation is also a condition in the National Treasury Frameworks for Grant Funding as well as proposed inclusion in the Norms & Standards related to the Water Services Act.

The Short Learning Programme, designed for all professionals within the groundwater industry, aims to provide hands-on experience and theoretical background for site selection, drilling, drilling supervision and borehole construction and development.
