GWD Branches

2014 starts off on a high note! The GWD is excited to announce the appointment of Mr Jan Myburgh as the newly elected GWD Eastern Cape Chair. Limpopo Branch elected Mr Duncan Munyai in mid-2013 and together with its growing membership, this branch gained impressive momentum on raising awareness re. polemic issues in the Region.

Central branch will call for elections early in this 1st quarter. A call for nominations will be circulated to all members in good standing.

The Western Cape branch with Dr Kornelius Riemann at the helm, also look forward to a busy year and will inform membership on any planned activities in the region.

Membership

The GWD Executive Committee announced that the membership fee for 2014 will not change and remains at the same approved rate of R228.00 (VAT inclusive). Student members continue to register at no cost but should remember to renew their membership yearly.

The GWD membership year runs from January to December. Formal invoices will shortly be posted to all membership in preparation to the 2014 term.  

Formal Events

The 2014 Symposium is scheduled for 11-12 August and will be co-hosted by WISA and WRC in Gauteng. More information will be posted shortly.

A planned 'FIELDSCHOOL' (interactive workshop) at the University of Pretoria in June/July 2014 will focus on groundwater training and expose attendees to an actual drill-site. We will open registration early in February.
